Pūteketeke family at Glenorchy

Aotearoa's official Bird of the Century has come to Glenorchy! A family of five pūteketeke, also known as Australasian crested grebe, have made themselves at home close to the township.

In the above video you can see the parents fishing for and feeding their grebettes — yes that's what they're called — and one of the grebettes taking a ride on mum's back.
