5.6 Promoting responsible water usage

Action

Implement the Water Demand Management Plan to encourage responsible and efficient water use, helping safeguard our pristine sources for future generations.

Key Initiatives
  • Targeted water management: Explore volumetric charging options that balance affordability with incentives to reduce energy demand, minimise waste and water loss and encourage responsible consumption practices.
  • Policy interventions: Investigate additional policy measures to further support and incentivise responsible water usage across the district.
  • Sustainable building and landscaping: Promote the adoption of water-efficient fixtures, encourage rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling, and support the establishment of low-water-use plants that are well suited to the conditions of our district.
