Sustainable Journeys Award
We recently won the Sustainable Journeys Award which recognises organisations who have worked to reduce risk and fuel emissions by enabling active and shared travel (walking, cycling and public transport use), using more environmentally-friendly fuels and vehicles, and/or improving journey routing to reduce the distance travelled.

QLDC were the winners of the 2023 Sustainable Journeys Award which recognises organisations that have worked to reduce fuel emissions by enabling active and shared travel and converting to more environmentally-friendly fuels and vehicles.
In 2019, QLDC’s climate action plan included setting the QLDC fleet renewal target at 50% of the fleet to be electric by 2024. QLDC
started by purchasing its first electric vehicle and as a result, QLDC has made the largest investment in transitioning its fleet to electric in Local Government of New Zealand.
