Since 2019, Queenstown Lakes District Council has been working with our community and key partners to take meaningful climate and biodiversity action across the district. Now in its third iteration, the Climate and Biodiversity Plan continues to guide how we work together to reduce emissions, strengthen resilience and restore ecosystems.

Our partnership with Kāi Tahu underpins the Climate and Biodiversity Plan and has strengthened over the past three years through the shared development of the Grow Well | Whaiora Spatial Plan. Building on this partnership, the Climate and Biodiversity Plan has also been informed by Climate Reference Group representation from Aukaha and Te Ao Mārama on behalf of Kāi Tahu.
